Alaska cruise. kids need passport.? - best alaska cruise for kids

Come for a ride from Seattle .. My husband and I have passports, birth certificates, but only for our 15 and 10 years. The only ship to the port in the United States is Victoria. Are we good with the documentation? I know that some rules have changed ..

Getting passports for the children. Each time a vessel reaches open water, the passengers return migration to the United States. The present cruise lines have a passport when boarding. Now there is a passport card that less money than the traditional passport.

Entry to Canada will be determined solely by the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA), Canadian law http://www.cbsa.gc.ca find for more details. Canadian law requires that all persons who enter Canada both proof of citizenship and identity to connect to. A valid U.S. passport or NEXUS card satisfies these requirements for U.S. citizens. If U.S. citizen travelers to Canada do not have a passport or other documents with a NEXUS card, an identity card with photo approved by the government (for example, driver's license) and proof of U.S. citizenship, must show a birth certificate issue of the U.S. naturalization certificate or previous U.S. passport. Children under sixteen must present proof of U.S. citizenship.

Everyone needs a passport in June 2009. Even if they do not come out of the boat in Canada, have another. The Jones Act requires that the ship visited a foreign port, so we have to go to Canada. Anyway you look at it, children need a passport.
